CHAS'N TAILS Fishing Charters

Capt. Russ was born and raised on Cape Cod. As a young boy his love and passion for the water was instilled in him by his grandfather who fished his entire life. Russ would go down to the dock to watch his grandfather come in with his catch of the day.  At 12 years old, Capt. Russ owned his first boat and has been boating on Cape Cod waters ever since.

Charter fishing has always been a passion of Russ', to be able to take people out on the water to enjoy a day of fishing on some of the finest areas in the Northeast.  Capt. Russ has over 40 years experience and enjoys his time on the water each day as if it was his first.  Come and enjoy a day of fishing on the "Lisa Zee" and take home some great fresh fish and a vacation memory of Cape Cod.

Bronson is very personality plus and shares the passion for the Cape waters with his father. He loves all forms of water; when not fishing, you will find him in the Hockey Rink.

Captain Scott Tripp

Captain Scott Tripp

Fish'n Tripp

Scott lives, sleeps, eats and breaths flats fishing.

Scott and I sat down for several hours one day and specifically designed the EXACT rods he like to fish.  “I thank my Father and Uncle for introducing me to fishing and the outdoors at an early age.  I hooked my first Indian River bull redfish when I was ten years old and have been captivated by the fish, and the sport, ever since.  It is an honor sharing this passion with family, friends and angling clients.  Living in New Smyrna Beach and having the north end of the Mosquito Lagoon in my backyard and Ponce Inlet just down the street allows me to immerse myself in this environment and discover the subtle changes these fish make each day.  Guiding new anglers to their first light tackle saltwater catch or putting a seasoned fly caster on the fish of a lifetime rekindles that passion daily”.  The fishing on the East Coast of Florida is better than ever.  Book your angling adventure today!

Mike Giacobbe

VP Engineering & Senior Rod Builder; Local Hooker Rods

Mike is a true craftsmen.  He has been designing and building rods for over 30 years.  He studied rod-building under: Doc Ski; arguably one of the best rod-builders in the USA today!  "Doc has dedicated himself to passing on his art forms to all who would like to learn how to do them. Recognized by the Guild at the Conclave in 2007 as one of the Legends of Rod Building, Doc feels this to be one of his most valued accomplishments."

Here is one of many examples of the PREMIUM HIGH-QUALITY of Mike's rod-building: Mike was commissioned by NOAA to build a CUSTOM tuna (50-80#) for the Bigelow

He had to compete against 30 professional rod builders to get the commission!  This was for the retiring Captain of the ship; being chosen was no small feat and showed Mike's professionalism and quality!

There are few rod builders left with the skill, knowledge and integrity Mike brings to Local Hooker Rods.  We are proud and honored to have Mike as part of our team.

Mike Nash

Mike Nash

Mike Nash is a commercial fisherman on Cape Cod. He grew up on the South Shore and has fished the waters from Scituate to Cape Cod for 34 years. He's always been passionate about fishing both fresh and salt water. Two years ago he bought his first Local Hooker fishing rod and has since purchased six more for the various types of fishing he does. “I have a hooker for all occasions, from the canal to the beach, river fishing and fresh water. A fisherman has to know one important thing; is the rod you are using fit for how you are going to use it. There are people that call me a very aggressive fisherman because of the way I fish and the amount of fish that I catch. This has been the best season I have ever had with the highest number of fish caught in one season (over 230 stripers) and I attribute that to using the Local Hooker Rods. Most of the catch being striped bass and a few blues. The point is that when you use a product that you can trust, there are no limitations, and that's why I use and stand firmly behind Local Hooker Rods!”
